[Probably 1910s or 1920s]

I’ve just found these photos in my grandfather’s scrapbook, unlabeled. The house, I am sure, is his grandparents’ house on Piermont Avenue in Grand View-on-Hudson, New York; the man is almost certainly is grandfather, William Cook Disbrow, Jr., as his age is about right and his face is very, very similar to my grandfather’s face at the same age.

More research to do….

As printed in The New York Times, 27 June, 1919:

DISBROW. — At Grand View-on-Hudson, on June 24, 1919, Elizabeth Bulger, wife of William C. Disbrow. Funeral service private.

[prob. 1910s or early 1920s]
Eau Claire, Wisc.

Wish we knew the date, but the letter actually tells us a great deal.

A new car, perhaps? Clearly the Coles are pleased with their fancy machine. I don’t yet know exactly when the Coles and Coopers left Black River Falls, Wisconsin, for Florida — but obviously this is Florida.
